Earl Zinger (UK)
Earl Zinger aka Rob Gallagher became famous as the frontman of Galliano – who we could adore in that line up at the Sziget Festival. He has been cooperating with Gilles Peterson for almost two decades now, since Gilles as the producer of Galliano had a major role in their successful breakthrough. It was probably the Galliano who first dare to experiment and make „dirty” the early sound of acid jazz mingling it with their noise and scrathing sound coming from their analogue syths and with „big city hiphop”.
Following the split up of Galliano Gallagher started a solo career and not a usual one. Taking up the name Earl Zinger he released two solo albums, but besides contributed to the albums of Tosca and Koop among others too. His project titled Two Banks of Four started a few years back and soon became one of the most kicking on the British nu-jazz scene. He has been touring around the world with Peterson for years, and is distinguished for his unique humour and restless power that gives a crazy flow to the sets that are powerful themselves.
