Aurevoir, The Roving Chess Club

Aurevoir. is an ethno beat band made up of young people from Zsámbék and the Zsámbék area. They started their career in March 2015 as a six-member band, and after several line-up changes, the band currently consists of eight musicians. From the very beginning, they have strived not to confine themselves and their music to strictly defined genre frameworks; the term ethno-beat as a genre refers to the fact that their songs are mostly influenced by the folk music of the Carpathian Basin and the Anglo-Saxon beat-folk, these genres have had the greatest influence on their creative activity, and their main role models are prominent representatives of the dance house movement and the beat movement. Diversity is conceptually present in their music; just as the motifs of Hungarian, Gypsy, Irish and South Slavic folk music and the beat music of the 1960s serve as the basis for their songs, so too does the world of French café chansons and old Renaissance and Baroque music. The name of the band ("see you later!") suggests that in pop music, specific, sharply distinguishable styles are no longer observed today, and pop music works are increasingly created as a result of the mixing of these styles. Aurevoir. bids farewell to the old era, and at the same time opens towards the new, in which the previously established musical styles are also welcomed back.
