Inspired by the discovery of 90's minimal techno, Ren Schofield began his Container project in the early months of 2009, applying compositional techniques and musical approaches learned through his background of noise, drone and cassette collage music to the genre of techno, without combining any of the two. Backdrops of simplistic beats evolve patiently over time giving a distinct focus to each sound introduced and each pattern created, snowballing together with occasional vocal cassette manipulations into what has been described as 'outsider techno'. He has two vinyl releases out on Mego sub-label Spectrum Spools which have blown minds all over.

Iowa-based electronic musician Jeff Witscher has been active under multiple monikers and in multiple groups. Marble Sky, Secret Abuse and Deep Jew are just some. However, Witscher currently performs and records as Rene Hell to pen magic synthscapes inspired by industrial, ambient, cosmic and minimalist music on Porcelain Opera (Type, 2010) and The Terminal Symphony (Type, 2011). He also recorded with Daren Ho as Mandlebrot & Skyy, Trash Dog and now Cuticle. Last year saw the release of a split LP with Oneohtrix Point Never on NNA Tapes.

This Amsterdam/Antwerp based duo has over the last 3 years toured both Europe and the US extensively, meanwhile intensifying their pulsating freeform beat music using synths, drum machines and other electronics. The two evoke an unpredictable float of playful and hard hitting rhythms, hailing inspiration from early acid house experiments and beat-heavy industrial. Laser Poodle have put out a row of cassettes archiving their improvised sessions, two 12"es are in preparation for release later this year.
