Dancing Plague (US)

Dancing Plague makes broodingly intense and emotional dark electronic music. Since the solo project’s inception in 2015, Dancing Plague has released four albums and four EPs, solidifying them in the world of darkwave and body music.

Madeline Goldstein (US)

With emotion and a strong ear for pop melody, Madeline Goldstein echos the energies of new wave, dream-pop, and dark wave, all while showcasing the vocal range and passion of femme pop icons and 80's theatrics. Her lineup features a rotating cast, but most importantly a bed of textural, shimmering guitar (Margot Rhodes, Mirror of Venus, Silver Shadows). With the help of producer Matia Simovich at Infinite Power Studios in LA (SRSQ, Riki, Body of Light, More Ephemerol) they have since completed a secretive EP, including breakout single “Seed of Doubt.” Dancing somewhere between new-romantic eccentricity and punk influence, Goldstein explores body music in its more dreamy realm, with a touch of theatrical pleasure.

Cawatana

With a long history, Budapest-based Cawatana began its activities in this form in 2018, purchasing and using analog synthesizers, drum machines, and sequencers, breaking with previous software solutions and switching to a purely hardware operation. Previously, they were very active on the international scene, performing a lot of concerts abroad, and making it to the best and biggest festivals (e.g., they played at the Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig twice, which is the world's largest "dark music festival"), but then they did not perform anywhere for several years, started performing again in 2020, and returned more actively in 2023. In their latest show (which was also recorded as a live session on A38 and was also seen on Hungarian Television last year), the elements of minimal synth/minimal wave characterized by analog synthesizers, darkwave based on hard drum machine beats, and postpunk based on powerful bass guitar form a perfect unity with coldwave vocoder vocals.
