Hajdu Klára Quartet

Klara Hajdu is an outstanding singer-songwriter and teacher in the domestic jazz scene. In 2018, readers of jazzma.hu, the only Hungarian jazz portal, voted her for the singer of the year. She has sung in New York, Ottawa, Toronto, Oslo, Paris, London, Glasgow, Rome, among others.
She founded her own quartet 12 years ago. So far, they have released two albums that have been well received by both the critis and the public. Along with Hungarian jazz channels, their songs have been broadcasted on Dutch and German radio stations. In 2013, they released their first album titled "Come with me" featuring contemporary jazz, evergreen and folk songs alongside their own compositions.
In 2015, they unveiled their Plays Standards Dedicated to Chet Baker release in front of a packed house to commemorate the legendary jazz trumpet. On the disc, Chet Baker's compositions and the jazz standards he became famous for were recreated in their own style featuring great trumpet player Kornél Fekete-Kovács. The profession nominated the album for the Phonogram Award in the "Home Jazz Album of the Year" category in early 2017.
2019 brought a revolution to the quartet, as the great Gábor Cseke became the pianist of the band.
Klara was also noted as a songwriter, as her song "You're Gonna Rise", orchestrated by Milan Szakonyi, was selected by the professional jury of "Dal2019" as one of the top 30 songs.
In October of this year Klara released her first Hungarian-language composition, "Summer", featuring Milán Szakonyi on guitar and Kornél Fekete-Kovács on the wing horn.
The quartet is currently working on songs for its latest album, which is scheduled for release in 2020.
