Following the decision of the Hungarian Government, in accordance with guidelines issued in response to the global health emergency, the 40th jubilee Budapest Spring Festival will be cancelled.

Manu Delago is an internationally acknowledged player of the handpan, a percussion instrument developed in the 21st century. He collaborates with such iconic artists and ensembles as Björk, Ólafur Arnalds, the Cinematic Orchestra and Anoushka Shankar. At his concert on the A38 Ship, he will perform material from Circadian, his 2019 record.
“Before I made this album I had a phase of very intense touring with multiple trips to five different continents, without a break for several months. It literally felt like touring with four bands simultaneously and in my dreams the music and crews started to commingle. I found it interesting how my brain was trying to digest all these experiences during sleep hours. In that stressful touring period, I started to consciously appreciate sleep and how much it contributes to mastering any challenge,” said Manu Delago about the origin of the record’s concept.
Delago’s previous album, the multi-award-winning Parasol Peak, was recorded under extreme circumstances, on a mountain, creating an ambience he could not reproduce live. For performances of Circadian, he has enlisted musicians who can ensure the sound is spot on.
This concert of the Budapest Spring Festival is presented by Budapest Festival and Tourism Center as a joint program with A38 Ship.
