Only The Poets is preparing for its first solo party in Budapest.
The British band has already proven what kind of party they can throw before Yungblud, and now it's time for us to enjoy their catchy indie pop songs at a solo concert on April 29th, on board the A38 Ship.
Only The Poets was formed in Reading in 2017, so the guys' musical taste was greatly influenced by their parents' record collection, of course, but also by the famous Reading Festival, especially Arctic Monkeys' first headline show. Although the guys could only dream of similar successes at first, years of hard work brought them the coveted recognition: at first they only performed in small pubs in front of a few people, and then pub gigs and open mic appearances were slowly replaced by regular clubs and supporting acts.
Their first solo UK tour soon arrived. According to the guys, these times played an important role in their lives, as they always went out after the small concerts to get to know the audience members. Thanks to these connections, Only The Poets became the band we know today.
Thanks to the post-concert meetings, they quickly found loyal fans, who have been supporting the band continuously since then. Although the Covid-related closures slightly broke the momentum of the constantly on-the-go group, they used the break to stay in constant contact with each other via headphones to figure out how their music could sound best on recordings. Their song Waking In The Dark, which Tommy Longhurst (vocalist, guitarist) wrote about a difficult time and wanted to provide a handhold for others, is also an imprint of this period. The guys didn't want to lose their pre-Covid energy, so they regularly held video listening parties during the lockdown, introducing their new songs to their fans. And when they were finally free, they were ready to not only take over clubs in England, but also to perform in Europe. In 2022, almost 25,000 people bought tickets for their concerts.
In 2023, they were also signed by Virgin EMI Records, giving the band a new boost. The members of Only The Poets have already performed in front of Lous Tomlinson and Lewis Capaldi, among others, and have played at festivals such as Lollapalooza Paris or the Reading Festival. The guys also performed in Budapest in 2024 as Yungblud's guests, and next year they will return to us with a solo tour. We can hear the irresistible melodies of Only The Poets on April 29th, at the A38 Ship.
Tickets for the concert will first be available to registered Live Nation members on December 2nd at 10 am, while full ticket sales will start on December 4th at 10 am on www.livenation.hu and www.funcode.hu.
