QUBIT LIVE # 1 - Lightdrawing on the Danube, LED programming workshop for kids

Sold out
How to draw with light and leave a mark? Can we use light to write and record it? Why is our vision imperfect? We cover these issues around the session, and then introduce the participants to the phenomenon of visual constancy. We will have a panel of points that will be programmed by children, a rail drawn over a Danube and a camera to capture the sight and, of course, our imagination. Together we show the invisible, we drank the quayside, our message to the river.
Workshop is held by Albert Virág and Barbara Sterk, members of Biolum. Biolum's team deals with combining analogue manual and digital techniques in their educational and artistic projects. They both live and work in Budapest. Virág Albert graduated from MOME as an architect. He is currently designing sculptural luminaires and acoustic panels with Pongrácz Farkas. Barbara Sterk is an art and technology researcher, focusing on critical aspects of digital media usage and interaction. PhD student at MOME and lecturer at Metropolitan University.
