Quimby evokes the turn of the millennium and one of its best known albums, this year's 20th Anniversary celebrating Ékszerelmére bringing back the mood of the party at the time.

“Let the Machine Hallelujah” - 20th anniversary of the Ékszerelmére album.

Quimby will be releasing its millennium-turn marking and one of its best known albums, this year's 20th of Ékszerelmére in the fall. The nine-stop tour will begin in November, and during the tour, the band will not only play the songs on the album, but also bring back the mood of the party and create an online commemorative album with the audience.

The album, released in 1999, is not only one of the band's most significant albums, but also evokes the era when psychedelia and party music swirled everywhere and pulled people into clubs. And this age undoubtedly influenced His Love for his songs, both musically and in terms of theme. The turn of the millennium, when the eclipse darkened, featured Red Hot Chilli Peppers on Californication, Muse on Showbiz, humming europop, home DJ Palotai and Tilos DJs dictating the Fighters Club and the Matrix. And with the turn of the millennium, people are increasingly wondering how dominated machines will be if the index turns around in the late '90s. It was in this spirit that the Ékszerelmére album was born, and with it, 20 years later, Quimby brings the atmosphere of those parties back then. The tour will be hosted by saxophonist Sándor Tóth and DJ Bootsie, who will make sure that the audience feels comfortable again in 1999 with his set, and after the concerts he will be responsible for the party.

By this time, the music press had begun to name Quimby as the best live band, clubs were already full of their names and more and more they were staged at festivals. The Ékszerelmére album has been named by some domestic media as one of the best albums of the '90s, and in 2000 it was also nominated for the Fonogram Award. Musically, this is the time when Quimby's most striking tone has emerged, combining the power of lyricism, punk and rock and roll with country, psychedelia and imaginative, often surreal lyrics. This is the world that Nimrod Antal engraved with pictures into our heads with his clips from Android and Hallelujah videos.

"Where have you been at the turn of the millennium?", The band asks its fans a question, asking them to get into the past and share any Quimby-related memories, photos, objects or even newspaper clippings with them by sending them to ekszerelmere20@gmail.hu.

The Ékszerelmére 20 tour starts in Veszprém on November 8, will perform in Vecsés, Szeged, Székesfehérvár, Pécs, Törökszentmiklós, Zalaegerszeg and Sopron, and the tour closes on A38 on December 21.
