20 years of Romengo - Gala concert with guest musicians
Between November 6 and 7, our concert halls will be closed due to maintenance work, but our restaurant will remain open — on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., warmly welcoming our guests.
Founded in 2004, the Romengo four continents performed in more than 30 countries, representing the Hungarian Gypsy music culture at the most prestigious world music festivals and concert halls. South Korea, Malaysia, South America, India, Mexico, Uzbekistan or the Berlin Philharmonic or Frankfurt Opera audience enjoyed the music of Romengo. All three
Their albums were one of the first albums of world music leaderships. They show their profession, the power of their cooperation between Gypsy and non -Gypsy compatriots through music, and thickened into the title of their first album; Two, which Gypsy means: together.
Most of the members learned to play music in autodidact in home conditions. The songs heard from parents and grandparents, according to today's urban sound, play their songs in respect of traditions.
The Romengo is undoubtedly the voice of Mónika Lakatos, the Kossuth Prize-winning and Womex Life Prize winner, who received the first Kossuth Prize in 2022 as an Oláh Gypsy and also as a woman!
