Founded in 2004, the Romengo four continents performed in more than 30 countries, representing the Hungarian Gypsy music culture at the most prestigious world music festivals and concert halls. Their albums were one of the first albums of world music leaderships. They show their profession, the power of their cooperation between Gypsy and non -Gypsy compatriots through music, and thickened into the title of their first album; Two, which Gypsy means: together.
Most of the members learned to play music in autodidact in home conditions. The songs heard from parents and grandparents, according to today's urban sound, play their songs in respect of traditions.
The Romengo is undoubtedly the voice of Mónika Lakatos, the Kossuth Prize-winning and Womex Life Prize winner, who received the first Kossuth Prize in 2022 as an Oláh Gypsy and also as a woman!
