Waiting for the Tsunami is a collaboration between French filmmaker Vincent Moon and the Argentinean-Colombian duo Lulacruza. The project documents a series of travels through Colombia while listening to the voices of the land and its people. They traveled with sound recording engineer Andrés Velasquez and met with local folkloric musicians on the road, making new music inspired by the sounds of each place. They visited some essential places in the cultural landscape: the ancient Muisca territory of Cota and Juaica; the rivers in the Pacific rainforest; the sacred Sierra Nevada and Tayrona beaches on the Caribbean coast; the urban hoods of Cali, Buenaventura, Bogotá, Santa Marta and Cartagena; the Wayuu people’s desert of La Guajira; and Palenque, the mystical heart of Afro-Colombia.
