Barbaric Violins: Balkan melodies, galloping rhythms and majestic throat singing.
The trio is composed of two fiddle players and a percussionist. From the steppe country of Mongolia will Dandarvaanchig Enkhjargal, who sings overtone singing and playing Morin Khoor (Horse-Head Fiddle). Bulgarian Dimitar Gougov plays gadulka, an instrument with three melodic and 11 resonant strings! When it comes to the French drummer Fabien Guyot, he plays everything that can be imaginable to create sound, it may be the African tambourine, salad bowls, pots...Violons Barbares is three virtuosos as the masterly way takes us to the musical destination we did not know existed. The competitions and improvise - and impresses in all their creativity!
Mysterious and hypnotic - this is the universe of the new show Monsters and Fantastic Creatures from Violons Barbares. After 15 years of concerts around the world, the virtuoso and atypical trio created a fourth opus inspired by Balkan and Mongolian popular beliefs - archaic, evil and phantasmagorical creatures emerge from the past to captivate the spectator. The audience is immersed in a world filled with demons, vampires, ghosts, monsters and dragons. Some are scary, others are dreamy.
Once again Violons Barbares stands out for its singularity and its desire to think outside the box. From this union emanates a singular, powerful cohesion and overflowing enthusiasm. The trio takes us on a captivating journey to imaginary worlds, for a zero-border, wild and intoxicating concert!
