Ever since Brits have held pop festivals, they have been criticised by the Americans for seizing trends from across the sea and giving them a European going over. Yet electric dance music – a strictly European discovery – is a different story, and to this day nobody does it better than the Brits. Rave culture exploded in Britain in the summers of ’88 and ’89 and today, anyone who’s anyone in the dance music business does their ‘thang’ in the London clubs. Following the successful establishment of the new state last year, the A38 boat venue again hosts the United Music Kingdom.
